Accessibility Statement

Celestium is built to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. Astrology is about meaning and orientation; that should be within reach whoever you are and however you navigate your device. This statement describes what we support today, where we know we still have work to do, and how to reach us.

What Celestium Supports Today

VoiceOver

Celestium is labeled for VoiceOver, Apple's built-in screen reader, across its screens. Interactive controls carry meaningful labels, decorative imagery is hidden from the reading order so it does not add noise, and related elements are grouped so navigation stays coherent. The two custom-drawn chart wheels, which are otherwise invisible to a screen reader because they are rendered on a drawing canvas, are given spoken one-sentence summaries so their content is not lost.

Reduce Motion

If you turn on "Reduce Motion" in your device's accessibility settings, Celestium honors it. Animated transitions, including the chart wheel's ignition animation and the motion in the ritual, tarot, and I Ching surfaces, are softened or removed so the app does not trigger motion sensitivity.

Dynamic Type

Text in Celestium scales with your preferred reading size. Typography is handled through a single shared font system rather than fixed sizes, so the app responds to your Dynamic Type setting rather than locking text to one size.

Contrast and Color

Celestium uses adaptive color tokens tuned for both its light and dark themes so text and controls keep sufficient contrast against their backgrounds in either mode.

Keeping It From Regressing

These are not one-time passes. Celestium's test suite includes automated checks that fail the build if an image ships without an explicit VoiceOver decision, or if text escapes the scalable font system. The intent is that accessibility does not quietly erode as the app grows.

Known Gaps and Work In Progress

We would rather be honest than overstate. Areas we are still working on:

• macOS: our VoiceOver and full-keyboard-access verification on the Mac app is not yet complete to the same depth as iOS.
• Largest text sizes: we are still verifying that every screen lays out cleanly at the very largest accessibility text sizes without clipping or truncation.
• Features we do not yet claim: we have not verified support for Voice Control or Differentiate Without Color, and Celestium has no audio or video content requiring captions or audio descriptions.

Standards

We aim to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a reference bar and with Apple's accessibility guidance for iOS and macOS. We treat these as a direction of travel, not a finished claim.

Feedback and Contact

Accessibility is ongoing, and reports from people who use assistive technology are the most valuable input we get. If something is hard to use, unlabeled, or unreachable, please tell us and we will treat it as a priority.

We will update this statement as Celestium's accessibility support changes, with a new "Last updated" date above.
